Pathways to Citizenship is proud to recognize the outstanding work of pro bono attorney Charisma. Charisma supports Pathways clients through intake consultations, document preparation and filings, and USCIS interviews, helping guide them through critical steps of the immigration journey.

Charisma began her legal journey at the University of California, Berkeley, where she earned her Juris Doctor. She then went on to practice law in public entity representation, civil prosecution, and labor and employment law. Throughout her career, she practiced law in California, Illinois, Massachusetts, and Texas. 

As a naturalized citizen herself, Charisma is deeply committed to supporting individuals and families navigating the path to permanent residency and citizenship. When asked which part of Pathways’ mission resonates most, she shared:

“Helping people on their journey to becoming citizens with the right to vote. The future citizens that we help will shape the future of this country.”

Through her work with Pathways, Charisma has gained firsthand insight into the complexity of the immigration legal system, recognizing that “mistakes and missteps are common”. This understanding has deepened the impact and meaning of her work as a volunteer attorney.
